Privacy and cookies
This notice explains what happens to your information when you use this website, book a call or email me. It is written to be read, not skimmed past. If anything is unclear, email me at simone@simonekirkpatrick.com.
Who I am
This website belongs to Simone Kirkpatrick, Divorce & Separation Coach, based in London. I am the controller of the personal information described here, which means I decide how it is used and I am responsible for looking after it.
The short version
- This website sets no cookies of its own
- It uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies and does not identify you
- Calendly, the booking service, loads only on the Book a Call page
- If you email me or request the booklet, I use what you send to reply to you, and nothing else unless you agree
Cookies
A cookie is a small file a website can store on your device. This website does not set any cookies, and it does not use similar technologies to recognise you or follow you around the web.
Because nothing on the site stores or reads information on your device unless you ask for it, there is no cookie banner. The one exception is booking, explained below: Calendly’s calendar, and any cookies it uses, load only on the Book a Call page, which you visit to book a call.
Analytics
I use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how the site is used: for example, how many people visit a page and which pages are most useful. It does not use cookies, does not collect information that identifies you, and does not track you across other websites.
I rely on legitimate interests for this: it helps me keep the site useful, and it has very little impact on your privacy. You can read Cloudflare’s privacy policy (opens in a new tab) for more detail.
Hosting
The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web server, Cloudflare processes technical information such as your IP address so that it can deliver pages to you and protect the site from abuse. This is necessary to run the website, and it is covered by legitimate interests.
Booking a call with Calendly
When you scroll to the calendar on the Book a Call page, the page loads Calendly’s booking calendar. Calendly is a separate service. From that point, Calendly may use cookies and will process the information you enter, such as your name, email address and anything you choose to tell me about your situation, so that it can arrange the call.
I use the booking details to hold the call with you and to prepare for it. My lawful basis is taking steps at your request before any agreement to work together. Calendly also has its own responsibilities for the information it handles, which are set out in Calendly’s privacy notice (opens in a new tab). Calendly is based in the United States, so your information may be processed outside the UK.
If you would rather not use Calendly, you can email me instead and we will find a time that way.
Requesting the booklet
If you ask for the full Before You Decide to Divorce booklet, the form sends me your name, your email address, whether you are happy to hear from me again, and the page you were on. It arrives with me as an email, sent through Resend, an email delivery service; the website itself does not keep a copy. I use it to send you the booklet and, only if you ticked the box, to stay in touch occasionally. You can ask me to stop at any time.
To keep out automated spam, the form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, a check that runs in the background without cookies. It loads only when you scroll to the form. My lawful basis is your request for the booklet, and your consent for any further emails.
If you email me, I receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you choose to write. I use it only to reply to you and, if we go on to work together, to keep in touch about that work. I do not add you to any mailing list.
What I do not do
I do not sell your information, share it for marketing, or use it to build a profile of you. I do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels.
How long I keep information
I keep emails and booking details only for as long as I need them to deal with your enquiry, or for as long as we are working together and for a reasonable period afterwards. After that, I delete them.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask for a copy of the information I hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to how I use it, and to receive it in a portable form. To use any of these rights, email me. I will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how I have handled your information, please tell me first so I can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK’s data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk (opens in a new tab).
